April 28th, 2010 - New Primal Fear DVD & Live CD scheduled!
Frontiers Records to release German Metal icons PRIMAL FEAR brand new Live CD and DVD.
German true Heavy Metal icons PRIMAL FEAR completed the work on a brand new live DVD named “16.6- All Over The World” recorded in various locations between September and November 2009 and on a live CD aptly titled "Live in the USA". Frontiers Records will release the two products separately and in a limited edition combo version on June 2nd in Europe and June 22nd in the USA.

“The main part of the DVD was recorded in Switzerland at the Z7, but there is more footage from a headlining show held at the ProgPower festival in Atlanta, USA plus footage from Brazil/Sao Paulo, Tokyo & Osaka/Japan and more places” explains bassist and producer Mat Sinner. “That's why the DVD is named "16.6 - All Over The World", while the Live CD is titled "Live In The USA" because the Live CD was recorded in Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles during the last tour that the we did across the ocean”. The DVD is filled with abundance of extra materials, such as an entire bootleg section with funny moments on the road, some bootleg shots from festivals and other concerts, all Primal Fear latest video clips, plus the making of 16.6 in the recording studio and a brand new interview section about the past, present & future of Primal Fear.

The last tours in support of the band’s last album “16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead)” unleashed some of the finest Primal Fear performances since the band formed in 1998: a constant great mix between power, ambition and enthusiasm plus of course great the talent of great players! There is undoubtedly a great value of interesting performances on this CD and DVD package and a great sound. Concert tracklisting (available on the CD and on the DVD) is: Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead; Under The Radar; Battalions Of Hate; Killbound; Nuclear Fire; Six Times Dead (16.6); Angel In Black; Sign Of Fear; Fighting The Darkness (a. Fighting The Darkness; b. The Darkness; c. Reprise); Riding The Eagle; Final Embrace; Metal Is Forever; Hands Of Time; Seven Seals (DVD only); Chainbreaker.

DVD bonus materials include
- Videoclips: Killbound; Sign Of Fear; Fighting The Darkness; Six Times Dead (16.6); Metal Is Forever.
- The Making Of 16.6 – Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead
- Bootleg Section: episodes & scenes from festivals & tours in Asia, South America, North America, Europe and more!
- Famous last words.
The DVD will be exclusively released on NTSC Region Free video format and the mix will be 2.0 and 5.1 with screen 16:9 and 4:3.

Enjoy the new clip for “Killbound” on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxAd2esa9yg

Oct 30th 2009 - Tour News & Statement!

Wuerzburg, 30.10.2009
Arne Lakenmacher, Primal Fear und Brainstorm

March 27th, 2009 - 16.6 Official Announcement & Cover Artwork revealed!
Frontiers Records proudly announces the release of PRIMAL FEAR new studio album 16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead) on May 22nd in Europe and June 9th in the USA.

Anticipated by a successful listening session held in Cologne, Germany, attended by the cream of the European Metal press, the new album is about to bring back Primal Fear to the throne of Heavy Metal. 16.6 is easily the most powerful, ambitious and interesting album in the band’s history. The vibe of songs like the opening track “Riding The Eagle”, “Killbound” or “Under The Radar” are reminiscent of the “Nuclear Fire” album but eh whole album features all the trademarks of the Primal Fear sound a the total dedication to pure Metal. There is also a new approach mixed with the trademark PF riffs in tracks like “Six Times Dead (16.6)”, “Soar”, “Smith & Wesson” as well as the epic stories, consummate musicianship, courage and fantastic melodies in songs like “Black Rain”, “No Smoke Without Fire”, “Torn” and the stylistically new ballad “Hands Of Time” with 4 band members all sharing the lead-vocals.

“Our target was to write and produce the most diverse and interesting album in the history of Primal Fear and combine our past with the future” says Mat Sinner. ”The result went truly beyond our expectations and it will be a huge challenge to play these new songs on stage! The entire band is very proud of 16.6 and we hope all our old and even new fans will be totally satisfied!”

The album was recorded at the House Of Music studios with engineer Dennis Ward, mixing engineer Achim Koehler and producer Mat Sinner. Mastered by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound New York. Once again Primal Fear display a very high standard of song writing, sound and production. New guitarist Magnus Karlsson and Henny Wolter shine with a new dimension to the guitar work, and lead vocalist Ralf Scheepers reaches a new level to his vocal performances. Nothing can go wrong if you’re backed by one of the best rhythm sections in metal with Randy Black and Mat Sinner and you can hear the result on Primal Fear’s outstanding new message called 16.6!

Some of the feedback gathered from the press after the listening session include:
“Primal Fear top themselves one more time again with their unique mix out of traditional Metal sounds and modern melodic power metal. How can do they that again and again?” Andreas Schöwe (Metal Hammer Germany)

"Primal Fear manages to take at least one step forward, one backward and still stand for what Primal Fear always has been standing for - pure metal." David Bergström (Sweden Rock)

“First impressions: more variety without losing the Metal balls! Fresh blood and ideas combined with the Primal Fear trademarks, outstanding vocal performance by Ralf again and great guitar work by both Magnus and Henny. Some immediate live favourites, other tracks definitely need time to grow, but sound more than promising and won't disappoint any metal fan that wants more than easy listening stuff” – Martin Römpp (Heavy! Germany)

“To date “16.6.“ is Primal Fear ‘s most diversified record; containing a spectrum from Hard Rock up to double-bass driven Power Metal Songs. But one thing is always consistent – the quality!!! – Gerald Siebenmorgen (Rock It, Germany)

"As the cover artwork shows, Primal Fear ride fiery bullets, play with demons...and fly on butterfly leaded wings. '16.6' marks the evolution of groundbreaking hard rock and power metal, filled with open-minded styles. The Devil knows they're alive!" - Filippo Pagani (Metal Hammer, Italy)

After the Primal Fear / Sinner show in Moscow on April 4th, the band will appear in Norway on April 25th at the Haugesund Festival and in some summer Festivals. More shows are being booked in South America (with Sinner) in August, USA incl. PPX and the UK in September, followed by Europe kicking off at the end of in October(with Brainstorm) plus Japan & Asia t.b.a.

More news, confirmed dates in South America and the video report of the listening session soon.

January 30th, 2009 - FRONTIERS RECORDS - 16.6 UPDATES

Produced again by Primal Fear's own Mat Sinner and engineered & co-produced by none other than Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69), the new Primal Fear album marks the first full comeback by guitarist Henny Wolter and the debut by one of the worldwide most respected guitarists Magnus Karlsson, since he joined the band one year ago! Wolter & Karlsson both participated in the songwriting and pre-production, which took place at Karlsson's Stuntguitar Studio in Sweden. The band recorded 4 weeks at the famous House Of Music studio incl. Randy Black (drums) and vocalist extraordinaire Ralf Scheepers. After the Xmas break the band recorded some small overdubs and started the mix with long time collaborator Achim Koehler. Finally Ted Jensen mastered the album at the Sterling Sound in New York.

The new Primal Fear album titled with the codename of “16.6” (Before The Devil Knows You're Dead) will be released in May 2009 by Frontiers Records. The new songs will include a lot of the Wolter/Sinner/Scheepers vibe from the “Nuclear Fire” album, then follow the path of “New Religion” and some real surprises! Mat Sinner comments: “I'm really proud of our work. The guys of the band and the entire team did a killer job! I love the crystal clear sound of the album and total dedication of the players. The fans of our first albums will really love the new tracks, plus there are a lot of sophisticated more stuff on 16.6 following the path of Seven Seals or New Religion“

Guitarist Henny Wolter added some notes to some song titles:
*Riding The Eagle* – is bringing back that Nuclear Fire vibe with a full speed double bass groove and those typical heavy guitar-Riffs and high speed twin leads that Primal Fear stands for. Above all it's that mix between full throttle metal and melody with Ralf Scheepers powerful vocals on which Primal Fear built their reputation.
*Six Times Dead (16.6)* – the title track and a super heavy guitar riff, stomping groove with a new approach and a message to the fans; 100% Primal Fear!
*Black Rain* – a nearly 7min. epic with big instrumentation, and a heavy Arabian atmosphere. Lots of variations and sophisticated playing & singing. This song strongly carries the handwriting of the new band member Magnus Karlsson, who is known for these skilful and tasty arrangements.
*Under The Radar* – another traditional Primal Fear speed rocker, a hymn with the classic Scheepers vibe.
*Torn* – seven minutes of pure music and the most ambitioned song & riff we've ever recorded, killer stuff, very groovy and a great melodic vocal line.
*Soar* – pure energy combined with a driving groove, a majestic halftime chorus and a great experimental breakdown part – one of my favourite tracks on the new album.
*Hands Of Time* – this will be a real surprise for everybody. There is always at least one track on a new PF album, that is different – this time it's Hands Of Time with four guys sharing the lead vocals – a very cool song!

January 23rd, 2008 - 16.6 Mix Done!
16.6 Recorded & Mixed!
A very long recording period is finished now and we're all very satisfied about the result. We've recorded nearly 80 minutes of music and finally 14 songs plus some introductions. Now after two days without any mixin, decisions, fresh air and sleep, it looks like we'd created the most sophisticated and diversified album in our career.

What can we say, the music includes a lot of the vibe of our very first albums like "Chainbreaker", "Running in the dust", "Nuclear Fire" or "Metal is forever" - some real dedicated trad. metal! But a new Primal Fear album always contained some new musical challenges, real suprises ... and a lot of fresh and new elements this time! We are working on the final tracklist at the moment and we will master 16.6 with Ted Jensen @ the Sterling Sound NY in early February. More news on the final songtitles and the releasedate soon!

January 2nd, 2009 - Happy New Year!
We wish all our supporters, friends, partners & fans a great exciting New Year and yes, of course with a new Primal Fear album 16.6 in May 2009. Holidays? Well, not a lot - Ralf was recording some more parts for the final two songs and we are ready and thrilled to mix the album, starting on January 5th @ the House Of Music studio. We will post some more updates on f nal songtitles etc. soon!

December 06th, 2008 - PRIMAL FEAR Studio News
After weeks of pre-production and preparation, we entered the House Of Music studio on November 28 to begin recording our new album, 16.6 (Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead!) released in May 2009 via Frontiers Records. The band is in the process of laying down the following 14 tracks for the new CD (working titles; in no particular order):
01. Six Times Dead (16.6), 02. Smith & Wesson, 03. Soar, 04. Riding The Eagle, 05. Black Rain, 06. Lightning, 07. Time, 08. Night After Night, 09. Killbound, 10. Don't Fuck With My Life, 11. No Smoke Without Fire, 12. The Exorcist, 13. Torn, 14. Scream .... but be sure, some songtitles will be changed shortly, after Ralf has finished his vocal trakcs!

Drummer Randy Black already finished his drum recordings on Friday with producer Mat Sinner and engineer Dennis Ward. Guitarist Henny Wolter is busy working on his guitar parts, while Mat will start with his bass parts on Sunday. Guitarist Magnus Karlsson will join the crew on Thursday!

Commented Primal Fear frontman Ralf Scheepers: "It's very unusual for one band member to see and listen how the other band member is delivering the goods on his instrument. When we perform together live, you can also judge what's going on each instrument but not as clear and obvious as in the studio where you can concentrate on each tone or note or beat from your mates. From what I have heard so far, I can really say it's the best performance I have ever heard from Randy [Black] on the drums and also from Henny [Wolter] on the guitar. Of course, some people might think, 'What else should he say, he has to promote the new album and that's what every musician would say just to keep the ball running.' But these words are my true impression and I really can't wait for Magnus [Karlsson, guitar] and Mat [Sinner, bass] to nail their parts to see the whole building growing and growing."

October 20th, 2008 - Pre Production News!
The pre-production for the new Primal Fear recordings is close to be finished and the studio & crew are finally booked. We've finished the songwriting & pre-production on 10 songs so far and have some more little things to do on another 4 songs. The material so far makes us all very happy. Between real back to the roots Sinner/Wolter/Scheepers vibe incl. the Karlsson touch, we have some very new surprises planned as always! Some more news on song titles & our crew later this week.

September 23rd, 2008 - Back From Russia!
After 10 years, we finally made it to Russia b/w Moscow & St. Petersburg. We had a great time and could meet a lot of great fans! The Moscow concert was maybe one of the Top5 club shows in our history, an unbelievable loud & exciting audience and a wonderful moment of metal! Thanks to everybody who helped to make this trip happen - M&S Promotion, Flaming Arts, Irond Records & most of all our fans! Keep the faith - the next shows in Russia will happen soon and we don't let you wait that long again! Promised!

August 18th, 2008 - Back From A Weekend Of Metal!
The UKs Bloodstock Open Air and Germany's Summer Breeze are history and a successful weekend for the Metal Commando - here's the German review from the Summer Breeze Page:

Thanks to the Summer Breeze & Bloodstock Crews for a great finale of our summer festival tour, our great fans everywhere and our fantastic crew & agency! We will start the pre production of the new Primal Fear album in early September and then we will play for the first time Russia and three new shows are announced too in Sweden, Switzerland and Norway! Stay tuned!

May 04th, 2008 - 10 Years Of Metal Blast!
Well, we're finally back home from the 10 Years Of Metal Tour, exhausted and very satisfied. After two days of pracitising with the new line up, we played 9 shows in a row! The tour was a wonderful experience and a worthy operation.

Magnus Karlsson proved, that he's not only one of the best rock guitarists, he is a top teamplayer and a great entertainer. Henny & Magnus are the most exciting guitar team, we could present in the ten years of Primal Fear and it was a lot of fun for everybody. We're still overwhelmed by every crowd's fantastic response! Of course there were special highlights like Berlin was an unexpected cool start with a great crowd! Stefan & Klaus joined us on stage in Reichenbach! We met a lot of long time Metal Commando friends from Japan, France, Slovenia, Netherlands, UK and of course Germany, Bodo & the Bikeschmiede team! Bruchsal was a like sauna and the fans in Bochum rocked like hell. After years, we came back to the mighty Z7 in Pratteln and played a wonderful show together with our friends of Jon Oliva. The Biepop in Belgium was sold out, with an unbelievable crazy audience, that reminded us we're playing in Brazil! In most of the venues, we've played 4 encores and close to 120 minutes. Thanks to all our fans, friends & supporters for showing up and celebrating with us! Thanks to our fantastic crew incl. Bigi, Achim, Neil, Kalle, Crusty, Zottel & Arne, Mystic Prophecy, all local promoters and our live management M&S Promotion!
On Saturday, we will start our festival season in the Czech Reprublic and so far we have a great bunch of 14 more shows lined up in wonderful places & festivals. See you there!
Ralf, Henny, Randy, Magnus & Mat

April 04th 2007 - Primal Fear & Bullet For My Valentine
It’s amusing what a single guitar riff can initiate. Of course we recognized some similarities to our song “Evil Spell” when we heard the opening guitar riff of the new “Bullet For My Valentine” album “Scream Aim Fire”. We know the guys and we shared the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver for some weeks in the end of 2005.
What we think about this? We love metal and we’re adults. We like the music of “Bullet For My Valentine” and we have a lot of respect for their work. Cool songs, a fantastic production and great guys! If the guitar work in one song is very similar to a Primal Fear riff or song, we’re ok with it and not out for any trouble … and we don’t want to receive another 150 mails about this matter – we’re fine and it’s great if “Scream Aim Fire” has a little PF vibe!
In Metal,
Primal Fear

You can buy now the new official Primal Fear Merchandise @ the Art Worx shop and in Japan @ Metal Is Forever!

March 11th, 2008 - Burrn Japan Poll 2007!

prestigeous Burrn magazine poll for 2007, Primal Fear voted # 24 of the best rock & metal bands in 2007.
Ralf Scheepers (#16 vocals), Mat Sinner (#16 bass) & Randy Black (#15 drums) voted Top 20 instrumentalists in their categories. New man Magnus Karlsson voted #34 in the guitarists section. We're overwhelmed by such a great feedback from the fans in Japan - Thank You!
In related news Primal Fear's album NEW RELIGION voted #5 album of the year in the "Rock It!" readers poll, while the Primal Fear / Udo tour voted #4 best tours of the year - thanks too!

March 4th, 2008 - Magnus Karlsson joins Primal Fear!
We’ve decided to continue with one of the most exciting and respected guitar player in the business - Magnus Karlsson from Sweden. Magnus is known from his excellent work as a guitarist, songwriter and producer for Allen/Lande, Magnum’s Bob Catley, Starbreaker and many more. We’re looking forward to hit the road again with a special Best Of setlist and Magnus will be an additional attraction for the shows.

Singer Ralf Scheepers comments: "After working together with Magnus on several songs for our previous albums „Seven Seals“ and “New Religion”, it’s more than a pleasure to have him in the band now. In my ears he is one of the most talented guitarists on this planet and he is also an excellent composer. I absolutely look forward to rock the stages of this world with him!"

Magnus Karlsson
added: "I’ve been a big fan of Primal Fear since I first heard them. I love their straight forward metal in combination with beautiful melodies and a world class musicianship. That’s why I’m both honoured and excited to join Primal Fear on their mission to show the world that Metal is forever!" - check Magnus My Space page!

It looks like we’re planning to get back into the recording studio after the summer festival season to work on a new album!

March 3rd, 2008 - The Final Curtain For Stefan!
Dear Primal Fear fans,
after 10 years being in Primal Fear I have decided to take a time out from the music business for some time. I do this for my family, especially for my two little sons, who deserve to have more time together with their father. Of course this is no easy decision, even if I know this is the right one.
I leave the guys from Primal Fear in friendship and want to thank them at this point for their understanding and supporting me in this decision.I also want to thank you fans for a wonderful time during the last years! I say goodbye to you, having in mind, that this will NOT be a goodbye forever!
Best regards,
Stefan

Well it’s hard to see the curtain fall for a friend and a great player after ten years standing side by side. We have all respect for Stefan’s decision. We were realizing the problems he went through the entire last year . He will be missed as a character and a great guitar player. There’s an open door for Stefan in Primal Fear and we're working on the possibility, that Stefan will contribute a typical Stefan style song to our forthcoming album! Good luck Stefan to you and your family!

May 23rd 2007 - It's Official: PRIMAL FEAR Reloaded!
Here are some screen shots of our new video clip "Sign Of Fear" and you can see a new/old face in the band.
Yes, after a long discussion about the future of Primal Fear, we've decided to bring Henny Wolter back to the band. After a four year break, Henny takes over the guitar duties together with Stefan Leibing, who played most of the guitars on the new album "NEW RELIGION".

We decided us against a brandnew face, because Henny is back ready & smoking. Henny's departure 4 years ago was in a very friendly way and the guys stayed in contact during his abscence. Henny did a fantastic job on the new Primal Fear recordings and the following SINNER tour. We are proud to have the riff master from Hannover back in our ranks! Henny will make his comeback with the band on the next show on June 30th in Germany. Welcome Back, Henny!

March 26th 2007 - Recording - Update Part V - New Festival Appearance!
We had a great vocal/guitar session over the weekend! Stefan finished his guitar work for our new album at the U3 studio with our good friend Achim Koehler engineering. Ralf recorded another vocal track. We're only a few steps away to finalize the recordings and we're ready to mix the album. Swedish guitar hero Magnus Karlsson (Starbreaker, Allen/Lande) played two fantastic lead guitars, alternate guns with Stefan and we're waiting for one spot by Gamma Ray's Kai Hansen and the comeback of doctor Henny Wolter! We will start to mix the album on April 15th with Ronald Prent (Rammstein, Manowar, Iron Maiden) at the Galaxy Studio in Belgium.

First, we didn't want to play any festival shows during this summer, because our new album release is scheduled for August 31st, 2007 - but after a nice discussion, we confirmed to play the Rock Am Haertsfeldsee on June 30th - very close to our home, together with Motorhead, Saxon & more!

In additional news, the "Metal Is Forever" Best-Of album is riding high in Japan for the third month in the Burrn Charts, plus Primal Fear is still in the Japan Top 30 Rock & Metalbands for 9 months now! The Best-Of album will be released in the US/Canada on April 2nd, 2007!

March 1st, 2007 - Recording Update Part 3!
Simone Simons of EPICA joined us for some sensational vocal work and for the first time in Primal Fear's career a vocal duett with a female singer. We are very pround about the final version of "Everytime It Rains", which has a different vibe for Primal Fear and our fans.

Ralf Scheepers will continue to track his fantastic vocal work today, while Stefan Leibing will join the band on Thursday to finalize the basic guitars. Orchestra maestro Matthias Ulmer will join the session today to put some finishing touches on the keyboard & orchestra section during the next week! Enjoy some brandnew pictures - cheers!

February 16th, 2007 - Recording Update!
Drum Recordings complete! Mat, Randy & Charlie have a final drink until the drums get out of the room and the guitars take over. 12 tracks are finally recorded and we are very happy about the result! More updates during the next days! February 14th, 2007 - Drum Recordings at the House Of Music
We're in the middle of recording drums for the new, yet untitled PF album No. 7. We started with the recordings for our new album over last weekend. Randy is in a fantastic shape, good mood and well prepared. We will be done with the drums tomorrow and start tracking guitars and bass. On the picture from left: Randy Black, Mat Sinner & Charlie Bauerfeind.

January 18th, 2007 - PRIMAL FEAR To Enter Studio In Early February
We will start with the recordings for our new studio album. The final pre-production is running smooth at the moment and we're very satisfied with the songwriting and the creative process. We can't wait to start and are more than a 100% motivated and focused! We will finally enter the recording studio in the beginning of February.

We've decided to record again at the House of Music studio in Winterbach, Germany. Mat Sinner is producing again with engineer and co-producer Charlie Bauerfeind (Blind Guardian, Saxon, Halford, Hammerfall etc.), who recorded and co-produced 'Seven Seals'. We plan to record the first period till March 6th, then we will have a short break and we're goping on the road with SINNER. Later in March we will record another vocal section with Ralf Scheepers and then we will move to the famous Galaxy Studio in Mol, Belgium to mix and master the album with Ronald Prent (Iron Maiden, Def Leppard. Rammstein, Manowar etc). The album will feature 11 tracks, including a duet of Ralf sharing the lead vocals with a very well-known female singer." Songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to 2005's "Seven Seals" include "Save Me", "Fighting The Darkness", "The Curse Of Sharon", "Psycho", "The Final Word", "Every Time It Rains" and some more. The music will follow the path of 'Seven Seals' with orchestral arrangements, but will include some real shredding heavy metal tunes!

"Metal is Forever - The Very Best of Primal Fear" (JVC/Victor) eneterd the Burrn charts in Japan on Pos. 23

November 14th, 2006 - Primal Fear extends partnership with Warner/Chappell!
